We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring transactions are processed in a timely manner. Key Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Review invoices for accuracy and ensure proper coding and documentation.
  • Prepare and issue payments to vendors according to established schedules.
  • Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and general ledger accounts.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Monitor outstanding customer balances and follow up on overdue accounts.
  • Prepare journal entries and assist with account reconciliations.
  • Support payroll processing and related recordkeeping as needed.
  • Generate routine financial reports and assist with management reporting.
  • Respond to inquiries from vendors, customers, and internal departments regarding accounting matters.
  • Assist with audits by gathering requested documentation and information.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and applicable regulations.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related experience.
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
  • Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with ERP or accounting systems such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or similar platforms.
  • Proficiency in Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
  • Experience working in a multi-department or high-volume environment.
